Oh my, I'm actually impressed. Loan with an option to buy, not obligation. Have our negotiation skills improved or what?
Meanwhile over at Everton, Kinnear is getting pelters

That's new, all sources reporting a 30M obligation to buy

This guy has not come here to sit on the bench! He plays Central Attacking Midfielder. As a #10 if you will. He may not have the brain of a #10 yet but I bet he will frighten other teams. Could be the buy-of-the-season...

Presumably technically an option but really easily achievable so we can sell it as an option and they can sell it as a obligation
Likely something based on if he plays a certain amount of games. Similar to Harvey Elliot when he went to Villa. I think it was that if he started 10 matches then the deal became permanent. Villa then played him for 9 games but weren't impressed enough to want to buy him so stopped selecting him.
As such I think that is excellent. If we like him we play him and sign him. If we don't think he is good enough then we simply stop playing him.
If we'd signed JKA with this clause then we wouldn't have been obligated to buy him and all that entailed.
I think we have done similar with Ramizanni's loan move to Burnley.

I've pretended to support a team that's been crap for most of my life as part of a long term plan

Yeah I've no issue with it.
It's probably basically an obligation in all but name but with a few little clauses making it legally not
I just watched a YouTube video and he looked like Rutter but with Usain Bolt pace. Dare I say it, but a bit Olise too. Obviously still a bit raw, but if we get him permanently, he could turn into a £100m player. I just hope Farke plays him and doesn't just favour James and Aaronson because they were here first.

He won't favour James.... Aaronson is possible, I still don't understand how he gets so much game time

Rejoice that you will be seeing Both James & Aaronson in a Leeds shirt this season but not your Gnonto
I think with the addition of Bahoya, a healthy Okafor, and Wilson rounding into form James and Aaronson will be used more as subs.
Imagine being a defender who has been run around the pitch by Bahoya for 70 minutes and looking up to see a fresh Dan James or Brenden Aaronson coming on.
