Re: Arsenal pre match chat
I'm guessing that Dan James will be missing for this one as he didn't play at all in Wales's last match and that was after being outstanding in the one prior to that.

Just being managed according to Bellamy.
But his hamstring issues are getting more frequent which is never a good sign for a player reliant entirely on pace.

Probably a tight hamstring and the worry is that if it's still troubling him it would mean at least a couple of weeks rest and recovery.
Dan is a very likeable player but as you say these niggles are now happening a little too often.
Anyway fingers crossed that Farke says he's available.

Re: Arsenal pre match chat
I think the majority of the side picks itself. THe only area where I feel there may be change is if we decide to go defensive and change the defence from the starting line-up from the last couple of matches. I am presuming Rodon will be out so if we are to go a bit more defensive I would expect to see Bijol come in as the central centreback and Elvedio moving to right of centre in place of Justin - wth Justin possibly replacing Bogle. That would be a defensive move to make us, in theory, harder to beat. However going with that might curtail our ability to take the games to Arsenal and turn it inot a 90+ minute defence v attack game.
It might also be that if we were going defensive that Longstaff replaces Tanaka.
That said I think we will go with the same team as the last couple of matches.

Not to start but that he's close to returning to team training.

Soft tissue injuries aren't they? Groin, hamstring etcJammy 07 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 6:16 pm Probably a tight hamstring and the worry is that if it's still troubling him it would mean at least a couple of weeks rest and recovery.

Frequent in players of his type.
Hopefully just managing as Bellamy said as we aren't exactly stacked in that area.
Bahoya got injured so likely he's out.

Re: Arsenal pre match chat
Farke on Man City
Not my topic. There are more qualified people to speak about this. It's not up to me, I was not invovled in the title race during these years. Only won one game with Norwich so can't really complain.Makes no sense if everyone in the world talks about this.
Trafford
Two games. Delighted for him. After a terrific start for us, it's fully deserved. Save % says a lot about his chracater. Perhaps even more in spotlight for us.Was desperate to sign him. He has shown in the first months that he can handle the pressure. Can be he England's no.1? I leave that with Thomas Tuchel. If you;re so young in age and you have two games, it says about the trust Thomas has in him. We are all convinced of his quality.
DCL minutes
Good for him to have two appearances under his belt. Really good start to the season. Harry is in the race for Ballon d'Or. Not easy to get minutes! He's come back in a good mood and in good shape. Perhaps would have liked more mins but he's back in good spirits.
Injury picture
Rodon is on his way back in his rehab, good progress. Individual sessions but a bit until team training.James out with a back injury. Jean-Matteo back with ankle strain, first time today with training. Could make Arsenal. Will have to see how Wilson reacts.
Arsenal
Deserved title last season. Were in CL final. Flawless before the Brighton game. Likely to be more on it and react to defeat on Saturday.
We travel knowing Arsenal are such a good team. We have a chance to show how far we've come over the last months.
They were the only team last year where we were nowhere near having a good game. Expect satdium will be buzzing bc of Mikel's contract.
Contract
I have no news. Just compliments for Paraag - joy to work with him. Congrats to Mikel Arteta, what he has done is very impressive. I remember when he took over, they were struggling. The winning mentality he has implemented is very impressive.
Ambitions
First step of this project si that I wanted to steady the ship and bring it back to the PL. Then try to make first steps to establish oursleves. Then different phase. We are not tired, we want to keep going.
International break and momentum
We adapt to it. I don't want to complain about it. We could focus on individual needs. First time we have three weeks; we tried to make best out of it.Gut feeling is that we have used it in the proper way. Few weeks time we can reflect and see. We have tough fixtures coming up. We are in a good mood. Long may it continue. We need to keep the ball vs Arsenal as much as possible. The pressing has to be good or cause too many set piece situations. We have to be tidy and be effective with the chances we create.
Progress of the team
There is always space for improvement. We are on a good path. We need to be rock solid in defending both in the deep block but also with the pressing. We have scored many goals but created chances where we should have scored. The effectiveness could improve, also open play and set pieces.
Muharemovic
We have to be careful not to over praise. Only five games so far. Been very good but quality is over a long period.
Learning from Brighton
Yes its important to learn from it. When you analyse; when you park the bus, sometimes Arsenal scores. Brighton tried to press them and had many good scenes. We have to bring this to the table.Arsenal still had 60% possession and more xG but didn't feel Brighton played them out of the park.

Re: Arsenal pre match chat
Maybe we should use xG rather than goals scored
Arsenal 1.23 Liverpool 0.67
Brentford 0.95 Fulham 0.21
Etc
How exciting yet accurate would that be?

If you are in Brisbane then there’s a Leeds supporter group meet-up at the “Pig and Whistle” pub at Southbank.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 9:54 am I’m over in Australia, any advice from our Australian members on how I may be able to watch the game please?

I can describe how it’ll go on here. 12 pages of how s**t we are. Followed by 5 pages of how great we are after Stach jags a free kick. Now you can just go out.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 2:48 am Thanks mate, think we are going to be in Gladstone for this one, I’ll work something out.

I’m at all the home games, and watch all the away games on TV, so this will be a new experience.

Why are you in Gladstone. That’d be like me visiting the UK and spending the weekend in Milton Keynes.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 11:04 am.

You forgot to mention the 12 pages will be in the first 5 minutes, Leeds are not allowed to play poorly at the start of a game, otherwise the whole club, manager, players and owners become the worst in the world for some fansAussieleeds wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2026 9:46 am I can describe how it’ll go on here. 12 pages of how s**t we are. Anything other than the same as last season against arse will be an upgrade, we were pathetic at the emirates and din't threaten them once, hopefully we have learnt something and tactically we at least attack when possible and use dead-ball situations when they come for us.
Holding the ball up for midfielders and wing backs is a must, piroe was abysmal last year, DCL has to hold the ball as much as possible.

Not entirely true.
Struijk had a powerful header saved from a corner at 0-0.
That was about it though.

Their squad is so strong they have enough to cope though.
They'll just bring in the likes of Gyokeres, Eze, Madueke etc
