Saka misses a sitter to end the game ...

FT 2-1
In that for 90 minutes, could (should) have got something. Certainly an improvement on last season.

Disappointed with the result tbh, we should've got something from it. As expected, the subs changed everything, from both sides.

Game turned on the error... and then the lack of any forward quality off the bench.

You wouldn’t know it but we played well for the most part.
Crap first goal but good second, that’s the difference.

Really good first 60 minutes.
Really well organised, lots of individual performances noteworthy.
Tanaka, Calvert-Lewin, Stach.
Unlucky not to be winning maybe (all be it didn't create glorious chances but definitely better side).
Then Arsenal stepped it up and from then on we didn't cope.
Very open then on and could have conceded a few more.
Sigh.
Take the positives of the first 60 minutes but once again we don't cope when opponents step it up.
Subs didn't help.

We played well for the hour.
Best away form for ages.
Probably about right seeing our lack of depth compared to theirs.
Seeing Arsenal aren't our rivals this season its just one of them days.

That’s harsh. We’re one of the strongest defensively this season.Victor_OTT_17 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:12 pm We are so bad defensively and so far behind the top teams. Embarrassing how we throw away leads sometimes! How can we be so good until we score?

Really getting fed up with Trafford, he was shakey at first for England with his kicking and distribution, and was abysmal today

Gutting to take after that performance but the difference in the two benches says it all.
Their equaliser came too soon after we scored and we were hanging on a bit after that. Lots of positives to take though.

Second was lovely but I don't think they score the second if we prevent the first.

Agreed, no shame losing 1-2 to the champs, but ,,,,Clitheroe White wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:29 pm That’s harsh. We’re one of the strongest defensively this season.
It almost ended up 1-3 because J T decided to be prime time Pele
And he was responsible for the first which changed the game

We were very good defensively for the most part. Still don't rate Elvedi much but hopefully Rodon back soonClitheroe White wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:29 pm That’s harsh. We’re one of the strongest defensively this season.

I think we need more perspective. Trafford is a breath of fresh air. He’s very good!
He did a lot right today. His forays out of his box towards the end were due to us pushing for an equalizer. He was left hanging and didn’t have much choice.
First goal wasn’t his fault. Left a player free in defense.
Second goal was just good!

Stop being happy that we played well for 60 minutes!!! We were decent until we went 1-0 up then, as we’ve done so many times, we miss a chance to go 2 up then we capitulate once the opposition turns the screw!
Terrible attacking substitutions and Trafford had a bad game. Yes an improvement but a game we should not have lost.
What will the excuses be if we lose to Man U next? We still need a 10 and a 9..

I honestly think we need to work on our game management on and off the pitch. We need to be more savvy in managing the game, break up the play, slow things down, disrupt it, and particularly when they had the momentum.White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:24 pm I think our biggest problem is that we can dominate matches, but don't turn that dominance into goals.
Which means our opponents are always in it.
Arsenal have been off colour for most of this match, but we didn't finish them off.
Another opportunity wasted, cos I feel like we should have won this.

For 60 minutes we did well as a defensive unit imo.Clitheroe White wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:29 pm That’s harsh. We’re one of the strongest defensively this season.
This season our defensive record has been more down to Trafford making great saves or Tarik making great last moment blocks.
I'd say our goals conceded is a bit misleading in that sense (we aren't as good defensively as it suggests)
But the first 60 minutes was a good defensive display.
After was more open as we've been a bit too often with Trafford in this case at the end for example stopping us conceding.

Defensively we make far too many schoolboys errors. We may not concede many but look at what we have conceded? Most of them unmarked in the boxClitheroe White wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:29 pm That’s harsh. We’re one of the strongest defensively this season.
