Got to say being a Leeds fan Im used to seeing some shocking referee performances. I dont see Leeds through rose tinted specs but I do expect us to be treated fairly. In league one the refs were appalling and I thought the quality may improve in the Championship, how wrong was I?

Today, I just have to say my piece though. That was not poor refereeing today, that was a disgrace. It almost felt as though he wasnt making mistakes just delibrately spoiling the game and ensuring we did not win. A nailed on penalty? not given, another possible penalty? not given, a 4th Leeds goal? why wasnt that given? Numerous free kicks that should have been? not given, and loads of Portsmouth free kicks? Why were they given?

Very questionable performance and the linesman down by the kop was even worse. When McCormack was fouled he was facing the incident literally 15 yards away and did nothing. He missed numerous other events in the game too.

I know we were at blame with the goals we conceded but I cant help feeling that once again the officials have had a hand in the outcome of the match. Shameful performance and I hope when it is watched back that they are embarrassed at the blatant mistakes that they made.

i was sat down the other end but it looked like the keeper was fouled? for the disallowed goal.
when mccormack went down and it was'nt given kasper just threw himself on the floor in dis belief.

it's about time referees were interviewed after every game to explain some decisions....i too was appalled at some of the things the referee didnt give or did'nt see today.

Know what you are saying, but the refereeing should have been irrelivant, schoolboy defending cost us again today, complete lack of concentration for the second, and what O'Brien and Kasper were doing for the third, god only knows

What a joke, he was an absolute disgrace

He had a major influence on the game where i personally feel he drained & demoralised our players in the end with is equally inept display as our defending

Long time since i've witness so many angry fans in the ground, even the mild-mannered folk on our coach were raging

Two decisions among many poor ones ;

McCormack taken out in the box, penalty denied as Ross M is sent flying with a clumsy challenge. If not a penalty why didn't the ref show McCormack a yellow card for diving. He knows it was pen & bottled it

Kasper is picked up by a Pompey player & thrown to the ground. My understanding of the rule where a player man-handles another player it is automatically a red card

Someone compared him to Ray Tinkler v WBA in the 70's, not quite as bad as that but he was poor, a short arsed Hitler tbh

worst i've ever seen. infuriating sat in the stands seeing him miss offence after offence. ruined the game with his and his officials appalling decisions and sometimes lack of a decision. hopefully we wont see him officiate a leeds game again this season.

Did type a rather long tirade but didn't it didn't post due to merging of threads.

Basically the officials were cnuts end of. They wouldn't've done so well with 10 men from mid-second half for the push in McCartney's face.

Do you know how poor it was today. I wasn't angry. I found it rather amusing, and even laughed at a couple of points. Said to my mate after the game, that was just a comedic performance, and rather than anger, I feel sorry for the guy, that he clearly wasn't up to it and had a leaning towards Portsmouth, yet the FL dump him in this game.

Worst refereeing performance I can remember in a long long time.

I have seen some really bad choice by refs against leeds this season, we went threw that period were Becchio was just getting assaulted, Why in the heel cant team put complaints in about refs?

Fair play to Cotterill, but I don't remember us getting any rub of the green. Seemed terrible from the first minute onwards. I think it showed when we celebrated getting a decision in our favour louder than the goals.

As I say though, the guy has gone up in my estimation. Could have stood and smirked at getting a point, but he's been honest there. If both managers say the ref was dreadful, surely the FL have to investigate.

And wait til you see the LUTV highlights, with the reverse angle camera! Keeper and Ross had a slight contact as Ross clipped in the goal and a 6ft 4" keeper flapped backwards like a rag doll and got the goal disallowed!
The peno was absolutely clear cut! You can't kick away a strikers feet and be allowed to play on...the fact it was 2ft into the box? An absolutely shocking decision and the lino MUST have seen it!
Pompey 1st goal and McCartney is smacked on the head as the ball is played out to the right and a deffo free kick. In any case, when a player goes down holding his head, the game must be stopped.
To cap it all in the last minute, Kasper is thrown to the floor by Kitson, as he was timewasting before a corner. That was a straight red, even if it would have had no outcome in the 30 seconds remaining...it was still a red card!
If that ref gets to officiate another game EVER, it will be too soon! FFS!

I have seen a lot of biased officials over many years of watching the football leagues least favorite team but yesterdays ranked with the worst- were they pissed off because the Kop Cat helped them out with their warm up - even the stewards sensed towards the end it was a waste of time trying to keep everbody seated - it was almost as if the ref wanted to provoke a riot - I think the aging pompey fan sitting in the west stand probably took a lot of the heat out of the situation - but those officials were just a joke :shoot:
