With the transfer window NOW CLOSED??! You bloody bloody idiots, what an utter rabble we are. Disgrace.Chief Executive Shaun Harvey said: "We have 18 games to go this season and are still within touching distance of the Play-Offs, but felt with the transfer window now closed we needed to make the change at this time in the belief that a new managerial team will be able to get more out of the existing squad of players and make the difference."
Thankyou Simon. I hope you can now speak your mind.

I think this is the right thing to do. Its hard to believe that leeds are only 3 points from the playoff's. I am very interested to see who they get innormangunston wrote:

I said on another thread i would not mind larry going as long as some clown like Megson does not come in. warnock is the obvious choice. Maybe lee clark

Perfect timing! Now the window is shut, the new manager can't buy any players!
Thanks Simon - you are a top bloke and got us promoted. Wish you all the best.
Redders will be a great caretaker - he's got the U.18's flying in their league and knows most of the 1st team players inside out.
I hope this means Grayson's shyte coaches will be leaving as well.

Leeds United have today dispensed with the services of Simon Grayson and his coaching staff. from that i reckon the coaches are gone aswell

Had to happen but the timing is shear stupidity - this should have happened weeks ago, that way the new man could have wheeled and dealed in Jan transfer window and got he's own team in.

A new manager at the start of the month would have wanted to spend money, which Bates was never going to let happen. A new manager might have persuaded Howson to stay, so Bates wouldn't have had that cash boost either.
Bringing one in now is ideal (for Bates) - it takes the spotlight off his failure to invest.
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

Re: Grayson sacked (Confirmed)
so why sack him? if we're near the playoffs (which implies partial success) WHY sack him? Why even bother mentioning it?"We have 18 games to go this season and are still within touching distance of the Play-Offs..."
I can't even fathom this. Bring a new manager in when there's no chance to adjust the team? Are you saying you actually waited until the transfer window closed before sacking Grayson? So the new guy is basically stuck with Grayson's team? Does this make any kind of sense at all? Are you familiar with the works of George Orwell, Shaun? 1984 perhaps?but felt with the transfer window now closed we needed to make the change at this time
Make what difference? What is the difference you're talking about Shaun Harvey? Do you believe the problem at Leeds is that Grayson didn't get the best out of the players? Let me ask you, when Grayson was preparing the team for Birmingham last night, what were you doing? Were you pounding the phones, trying to draft in quality players? Or were you, as usual, totally failing to do your job?in the belief that a new managerial team will be able to get more out of the existing squad of players and make the difference.

Just heard the news......
This is completely the wrong time to be making the right decision.
Think you've hit the nail ont'ead tho GW. Perfect timing for bates. Of course it will piss off the fans but he has shown before that we don't matter to him.

Re: Grayson sacked (Confirmed)
The Birmingham result cost him his job as we have not rectified our mistakes. Should have gone earlier but we manageda few results in jan. 4-1 final straw. Feel a little sorry for him and will thank him for his efforts but we need a decent manager now. Good luck for the future and I hope he gets anoyher job soon

Makes no sense whatsoever. Why let him sign a player one day and then sack him the next?
I'm baffled. Should have been given until at least the end of the season.
Let's just hope we don't get Bruce or Keane in now. Jesus.

Good luck Simon, hope you have a better chairman in your next role..
Curbishley, Billy Davies (always did well on a shoestring), Dave Jones, Poyet (probably wont leave Brighton), Lee Clarke... All viable options... If any of them have any sense, they wont get involved while Bates is at the helm...
