What a brilliant way to start the day......

We can argue about which was the best goal (Liverpool or Wimbledon ?) but the funniest was number 10 with Yeboah powering down on goal and Deane lumbering beside him looking as athletic as John Cleese

I remember watching him playing for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on german satellite TV scoring goal after goal and all different types and thinking " I wish we could sign this guy " and I couldnt believe my eyes when I actually read in the paper we had. Has to rank as Sgt Wilko's best ever signings for me.

Anthony Yeboah was unstoppable on he's day........one of my all time favourites. Still a Close call between him and JFH tho - what you reckon guys, which one was better ?

Not even close in my opinion. Yeboah was the best player I ever got to see wear the shirt.

Watching the video above should show you why. Just look at the range of finishes. There are tap ins, powerful bullet headers, carefully placed looping headers, delicately placed finishes into the lower corner, deft chips over an advancing keeper, first time rockets into the top of the net, juggling the ball with his thighs at pace before destroying the Wimbledon net and, best of all in my opinion, that 30 yard volley against Liverpool. I lost my voice for 3 days after celebrating that goal. There was a superb picture on one of the back pages the day after taken from the other end of the pitch as that ball was en route to goal where I can see myself and my jaw is on its way to the floor.

Yeboah had pretty much everything. It is such a shame George Graham handled him so poorly on his return from injury.

Absolutely loved Yeboah! I was only about 5 or 6 when he played for us and he was someone I truly admired!
Unbelievable finisher and such a shame he didn't stay longer.

As for that white shirt, ironically my Dad wore it to the Donny game last saturday, I remember having it until it was that tight around my neck that I struggled to breathe.

Not only that, he could hit those rockets with either foot.

I wouldn't say he was the best I saw because I was lucky enough to see the emergence and glory of the Revie side, but he was magnificent.
