Luci is not happy.
What kind of music do you usually have here?
Oh, we got both kinds. Country....and Western.

Re: Luci is not happy.
Hmm there were reports a while ago that Leeds looked at a possible loan move but Becchio responded that he wanted to stay and fight for his place, whereas this report states otherwise.
Sometimes I'm quite bitter with Leeds players moving on and I'd enjoy a smug grin when they fail to do much, but to be fair on the fellow they haven't actually given him a chance. When you've got "one year Norwich reserve" on your CV, no other Premier League club will want you. Back to the championship I'm afraid.
Unless West Ham make an emergency loan move for him, they are struggling with strikers and have players who will give good service.

Poor Becchio
I'd have him back like a shot :luv:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Backwards step if he returns I'm afraid. We need to look elsewhere if we're looking...

Why's that then? Becchio was with us and had scored 20+ goals by Christmas/January last season. Pace is not the be all and end all surely? White had pace but no end product....... says it all really. Thought Ryan Hall had pace????BorderReiver wrote:No, not for me. We need to inject more pace in the team.

He's missed the boat at an age he could ill afford to. If he doesn't get released by the mustards in January to a Championship club (which won't be Leeds) - he'll be off to the blunts or another Lg1 side. Shame really.

Not a backwards step. He should never have been hounded out of our club by that f*ckwit Warnock, the ridiculous exchange with Becchio and MorisonTwiggster wrote:

How we could have done with him today. He would have buried that chance Poo wasted.

Becchio went from being supposedly "hounded" by one manager, to being ignored by another. Money and prem "fame" made his (or his agent's) mind up. Nothing else.becchio bear wrote:

He didn't HAVE to leave, as he still had a decent contract at LUFC, I believe?
Now he is reaping what he (or his agent) have sowed. Like I said above - shame really.

Oh come on, the way Colin was treating him you might as well turn round and berate a guy for leaving a swimming pool when people were chucking in jellyfish. You don't HAVE to get out you know!...Twiggster wrote:

When push comes to shove, Becchio produced the goods and scored a hatful at this level. We'd be fools not to take him back if the chance arose.

Re: Luci is not happy.
I have left a job where I thought I was not being appreciated and left to go to what I thought would be a better job at the time, with more money. That didn't work out as I'd hoped. No way I'd have expected my old job to take me back a year later, even tho my colleagues and customers initially missed me at the first job. My old job had moved on. Different techniques and strategies and I wouldn't have fit in anymore.drsdadsotherson wrote:

Re: Luci is not happy.
I'm convinced he could still do a job for us and pop the goals in on a regular basis. If there were another player with a similar background available people would be clamouring for us to try and sign him. He can do what we need. What does it matter that he's been here before if he comes back and does it some more? Sometimes 'past is past' is valid, sometimes it's cutting your own nose off to spite your face.Twiggster wrote:

Re: Luci is not happy.
He wouldn't tho - that is my point. LUFC have moved on. What worked when he was here is now history, under MaccyD.drsdadsotherson wrote:

Then you have to think of WHERE he'd fit in. Replace the league's top scorer? Be promoted to first team ahead of MaccyD's signings? I doubt he is even in the manager's thoughts, TBH.
Only ex Leeds player I wouldn't mind seeing given a chance is Max. He is such a wild card he could probably make an impact. But even he isn't any more match fit than the argy and we need someone who can step in, in January and immediately make an impact - not work up to it over the rest of the season.

Luci is not happy.
Thing is McDermott has already confirmed he enquired about Becchio's availability on loan so we know for a fact that he has been on the manager's radar.Twiggster wrote:

The question of where he would fit in is a valid one however. McCormack and Becchio never really worked as a combination under Grayson or Warnock. Becchio's frustration with Warnock was to do with his "just lump it up to Becchio's head" tactics which is not Luci's strength. Maybe he would thrive under McDermott as McCormack has done. Maybe McDermott could make the combination work.
I was a fan of Becchio at Leeds. If McDermott feels he is the right player to improve the side we should sign him if he is available for the right money. But if there is another available player who McDermott thinks is more suited to his plans we should sign him instead. I don't believe in this "the past is the past" bull any more than I believe we should sign old favourites just because they are old favourites. We should sign the players that fit in the manager's team. I have more faith in McDermott than I have had in any Leeds manager since Wilkinson.
