You know I find it quite humorous that some proclaim the pro-gay agenda is being shoved down their throats. That sentiment is quite prevalent on various conservative entertainment complex outlets here in the states. Yet, for centuries (or more), how much of the anti-gay slurs, jokes, beatings, murders, etc., had to be endured? Calling out bigotry is no agenda, it is called the return of decency and respect for everyone.

Absolutely correct, and for me that extends to any other form of prejudice too.

The famous 'gay agenda' argument is nothing more than a transparent attempt to avoid accepting that they are guilty of prejudiced thinking. Little winds me up more than 'where's my straight pride, where's my straight rights movement?' because it's something that straight people have always had, some are just so blase that they can't even see it.

Jaysus, dude, that is so fecking simple and so fecking right  As someone who has suffered in the past because of his nationality and/or religion I'm so against prejudice of any kind.

Tolerance is total!

We just have to live and let live, not everyone is the same, I work for a lot of gay couples and often find they are easier to deal with than the straight ones so to speak

This is just beautiful irony

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was described in a Channel 4 news report as "So Gay Lover Of" in the subtitles

Paralympics opening ceremony was brilliant tho!
Shame many EU governments have chosen not to send representatives to these games in protest at the Ukraine situation.
Apparently Putin's stance against the gay community was not as repulsive as his actions in Ukraine?

To be fair the games are not homophobic, but they are being used to build up the image and egomania of a hateful regime. The NRA would say 'don't hate the gun, hate the killer holding the gun'. The solution there is obvously to remove the gun, then the guy isn't as likey to be a killer. The solution in Russia is not to hate the games, but to hate the people hosting the games, by which I mean the politicians rather than all Russians. Same solution should have applied of course... take away the games and give certain egos a damn good slap.

I will be watching, as I have many friends from Help For Heroes who are competing.
I will also be watching all the games in admiration of these disabled men and women, who have fought against their disabilities and are participating.
I will be watching in awe of their achievements - and feeling humbled by their utter courage and their joy at participating.
RESPECT to them all.

Well put DDOS, that is pretty much what I meant but I carelessly used shorthand
