Season Ticket Renewal ????

Beginning to wonder what is the point in renewing for next year,for the first time in my life I am really pissed off and couldn't care less !! why should I pay good money to see so many individuals masquerading as Leeds players, taking the money taking the piss and in my opinion not showing the passion required to wear our beloved white shirt, I can accept defeat but laying belly up so easily as the players did on Saturday has really broke my heart....

Folk on our coach yesterday thought I was joking when I said I'm seriously thinking of not renewing my season-ticket unless I see a chink of light at the end of the tunnel because right now we are in a deep dark hole.

I'm sick of it......Reading & Burnley this week to come, why do I bother I ask myself.

Another battering at Oakwell will just about finish me off

Getting mine back for next season. Not been able to make use of one since the 09-10 season due to work and being away 9 months of the year!

The team do get me down from time to time but I love nothing more than going to Elland Road on matchdays

Really depends on whether you don't mind being continually sh*t on & are prepared to accept the rubbish thrown at us at an over-inflated price I may add

I know & see 1000's of Leeds fans & their whole life revolves around LUFC & beer, that's fine if they haven't anything else in their lives. I personally have other priorities !

I wouldn't have married my wife if I didn't love her

I wouldn't revisit a restaurant if the food & service was shocking

I wouldn't remain friendly with friends if they treated me badly

I wouldn't stay in a hotel/b&b if it wasn't clean

I wouldn't go see a show/film again if I didn't enjoy it

I wouldn't go to a holiday location if it was a dump

I wouldn't play sports if I didn't enjoy it

I wouldn't play my music if it ever got on my nerves

Leeds United are in my blood which is probably the reason why I renew every season

Anyone who enjoyed Rochdale, Sheff Wed, Bolton or the majority of our other games over the last couple of years must be easily pleased

I do feel despair little old man, I don't need to have actually attended in person for that!! If you buy a season ticket you take the good with the bad, yeah yeah I know there's been more bad this season. You've moaned after every game for at least the last two seasons though I have offered to go in your place

I know i have BB but that's how poor it has really been. I expect to be entertained for the extortionate monies i pay on an annual basis especially as our players are on decent salaries & should be proud to wear the white shirt of Leeds.
I don't know any other walk of life i would waste my hard earned cash on RUBBISH !

I wouldn't stop going completely but i would pick my games....i like to be in control of my life & not allow a poor organisation such as LUFC to dictate my time & resourses. I've stuck with Leeds through three relegations, i've done my bit, it's time for LUFC to give us fans something back in return for our loyalty !

Obviously following or supporting a sport's team is the only walk of life in which anyone would waste their money on rubbish. That's because you support them for reason's other than enjoyment. It's not like going to the movies or watching telly or eating in a restaurant - those are things you pick and choose from a variety of options and you obviously pick and choose something that gives you pleasure.

I'm a season ticket holder for Sydney FC in the A-league. I go to their home matches and watch them away on telly. The football they play is shite, the coach's tactics (for want of a better word) epitomise anti-football. They are boring. If I wasn't fan I wouldn't even watch their match highlights because there aren't any - okay that's a slight exaggeration, but you get my point. I'm stuck with them. I could of course stop following them, but that wouldn't give me the choice of following another team - whereas I can give up a movie, TV show, restaurant, play for another.

I'm not saying that you should renew your season ticket if you are not enjoying yourself, but you can't compare following a sport's team with other entertainment. You have every right to expect to see quality football of course and to complain when you don't get it, but as I said following your team is not the same as choosing a movie or a TV show and never will be.

And you know what, I reckon that despite your (and others) unhappiness you (and others) will renew your season ticket out of love or hope or even guilt.

given that a season ticket is for a season then you'd have to look really hard to find the good among the bad from the last 3 seasons...What's it been half a dozen enjoyable games in that time...

I am a season ticket holder of the Brisbane Roar and I have been since the inception of the A-League. I can tell you we have had some shocking seasons finishing near on last, but now we are in a bit of a purple patch. We play football as it should be played and to be honest I think they would give our Leeds side a run for their money (correct me if I am wrong, Harry).

I've never considered not renewing my membership, even in the lowest of the low, but at the end of the day it's all part of being a supporter, yeah?

I can see both sides of the argument here, but for me personally i'll be renewing as soon as the form drops through my letterbox.
I've literally spent tens of thousands of pounds watching Leeds at home, away and around Europe over a 35 year period since I started paying for myself at the age of 15.Yes,after a day like Saturday you feel like throwing in the towel and saying, "enough is enough", but already i'm thinking what tomorrow night will bring, it could be another debacle or we could have one of those games where everything clicks and that's the thing what keeps me coming back for more, you just never know what will happen.
I do have plenty of other interests in life and as was said by 1964 white, if you got such bad value anywhere else then you wouldn't go again, or waste any more money on dross. But to me and my footballing friends your team is your team, you can change anything in life if you don't like it, but your team is not an option. You can cut down on the number of games you attend, as many, including myself, have to do from time to time due to work/family commitments but to just stop seems unimaginable. Keep the faith, we could be on the edge of greatness, as I've been saying for years...

I really enjoyed reading your list and I fully agree with you for the most the only two I don't understand the restaurant&service plus film/show quote I fully understand that you have bought a home season ticket and it would be a waste of money not to use it but find it hard to understand why you as you say waste money on going to away games when you don't enjoy it unless you have an away season ticket.

I don't know about Brisbane, but my Sydney season ticket costs the equivalent of about 250 pounds. That is for 14 home games. I'm on the Western side of the ground, fairly close to the half way line and under cover. I admit I don't travel to away matches. There's only one close by and all games are live on television here.
