Rio Ferdinand has agreed a deal to join newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers, according to Sky sources.

Ferdinand is a free agent after being released by Manchester United at the end of last season after 12 years at Old Trafford.

It is believed he had offers from clubs both at home and abroad, but he has elected to work under Harry Redknapp for the second time in his career.

Redknapp was the manager who gave him his debut at West Ham in 1996, and Ferdinand was the world’s most expensive defender when he left to join Leeds in an £18m deal in 2000.

Ferdinand moved to Old Trafford on a five-year deal in another record deal in July 2002 and went on to win six Premier league titles and the 2007 Champions League during his time with United.

He played 81 times for England between 1997 and 2011 and was a member of three World Cup squads.

Hull City: Robert Snodgrass fee agreed with Norwich

Hull City have had a bid in excess of £6m for Scotland striker Robert Snodgrass accepted by Norwich City.
Personal terms are yet to be agreed for the 26-year-old, who joined the Canaries from Leeds United in 2012.
Snodgrass, whose contract expires next summer, scored seven goals in 34 appearances last season as Norwich were relegated from the Premier League.
Should the deal go through, he would be Hull's second summer recruit, after the club-record signing of Jake Livermore.
Midfielder Livermore, 24, joined the Tigers from Tottenham on Wednesday for a fee thought to be about £8m.
Hull, who begin their debut Europa League campaign on 31 July, face promoted Queens Park Rangers in their first match of the new Premier League season on 16 August.

Looking like Ross can be added to the ex-player watch! Seemingly not on the plane to preseason in Italy.

Green gone

Post by Twiggster »

Seeing as there are no "players gone" or "players signed" threads anymore on here, and comments about them are just put in on any thread these days...(anna - where are you?? :( )

Rotherham United have signed another former Leeds United player after agreeing a deal with Paul Green.

The midfielder has agreed a two-year deal with the Millers and it will be completed subject to passing a medical.

Green, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town, was released by Leeds at the end of last season after two-years at Elland Road.

The 31-year-old joins former Leeds players Ryan Hall and Frazer Richardson in signing for Rotherham in the past week.

Ryan who?? Fraser who? Paul who?? :duno: GREAT to see the deadwood leaving tho!

That'd be Paul Green. I'd still rate him quite highly. Think he had more to give than Tonge and Norris anyway. Should have been given more games than he was. A young Green and a young Brown would be definite starts for us. Wish him all the best, a club like Rotherham works well for Green and vice versa. They could certainly use his experience at this level.

No doubt he'll score against us...well, would certainly rather him scoring than Hall scoring against us.
