Thing is, there is no clear rule. Just like 'spygate'. It's a grey area which needs attention from the FA. There will be repercussions from the powers that be for both teams I'm sure.....but really.....how can there be when there is no hard and fast rule as to what players should and shouldn't do. It needs to be stamped out of the game. I've watched the incident now and the co commentator on SKY (Andy Hinchliffe) called Leeds disgusting....I mean, disgusting, for carrying on playing :dun: when there is no rule and you don't know whether the opposition is playacting. It's something that has always pi**ed me off and needs sorting out after this debacle!

......whilst I'm having a rant, football isn't what it was. A game played 'in the spirit'. Too much money now and greedy players and clubs. Too much cheating and playacting by players to get a result any old how....haven't seen the Bamford incident close up yet though.

It will stamp out the gamesmanship and will keep games flowing.
Close but I think you have to spend 2 minutes minimum getting "tended to" on the sidelines if you stay down for more than 10 seconds or need the trainer on. I bet 95% would bounce straight back up. We've conceded at least twice after we thought play had been stopped for some reason this season IIRC

On the plus side if we do meet them in the final then they will be obliged to put the ball out each time we have a player injured. So on every attack they have we just need a player to go down and they will have to put the ball out, otherwise it would be double standards and John Terry would not tolerate that!

Having watched the "Bamford incident" on repeat it's not good but no worse than any of the other play acting that went on. Sky pick and choose what they want to show tbh. The ball went out in our half, game carried on, ref apparently didn't see, linesman neither.... not shown again.... Bamford was yanked about, took Sky quite some time to go back to that one to just briefly show it... Sky manipulate what they want viewers to see and think. This ref was shocking, about one of the worst i've seen. He completely lost the plot. :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

It was no worse than the dive Grealish did when Phillips clearly won the ball, but the only difference is their player was red carded. It will be rescinded anyway tbh.

The thing is these things just open up a can of worms. If you have to kick it out every time someone goes down, teams will be doing it all the time to prevent attacks. It just opens the system up to abuse and I don't see how that is a good thing.

My my.

Seems like I have missed a fun afternoon.

More headlines. Is that what we need right now?

Grealish spends more time on his arse play-acting and moaning to the ref, done it all his career but let's face it that's the way the games gone and the authorities don't stamp it out.
Re: kicking the ball out- don't see what the problem is...if it's a challenge where a player is 'injured' play just continues unless it's a head injury . Play is only stopped at the referee's discretion and unless there has been a rule change this has been the way for decades. This is a contact sport don't forget , injuries happen but any little niggle is not a license for players to take the law into their own hands. Far too much molly coddling for these spoilt wimps.

Kalvin being the ultimate professional he is helped the little tw*t to his feet & then walked to Attwell & took the rap on the knuckles, no in your face argument just continued to get on with his job. A decent proper footballer !

Smith : They used Grealish for target practice. He is a special player and special players should be protected.
In other words can the opposition's players just leave him be and let him play his game without being tackled. Grow up Smith you make me puke and tell Grealish to grow some while you're at it !

Well I thought I'd seen it all in football.....wrong !

Enjoyed the game as Leeds seemed to have got their mojo back spoilt by a Villa side constantly falling over with their time-wasting & feigning injury antics, some fans called it professionalism I call it cheating. We also witnessed one of the worse referee performances I've seen in a long time, we've encountered some strange decisions this season but Stuart Attwell took the biscuit today.

Positives

A decent performance
We scored a goal even though it was adjudged to be unfair
Phillips had Jack Grealish in his pocket
Phillips taking corner-kicks, so much better than Pablo, Alioski & Douglas
Klich, 30 yards everywhere we go 40 yards or 50 yards Klich is scoring goals
Roberts back to his form he showed v the baggies
Cooper & Jansson in tandem again
Ayling running & link-up play
Casilla saves
Hernandez not at his ultimate best but provided at least three sublime passes
Substitutions much better today
Atmosphere until the 'we gave you a goal how sh*t must you be' incident
Bielsa such a honourable man

Negatives

Shooting erratic
Crosses still poor from open play
Bamford another feeble display, elbow incident embarrassing
Harrison, how does this average footballer keeps his place
Villa's game-spoiling tactics
Referee a disgrace, say no more

Ratings

7.0 Casilla
7.0 Ayling
7.0 Jansson
7.0 Cooper
6.0 Dallas
8.5 Phillips MOTM
7.0 Hernandez
8.0 Klich
7.0 Forshaw
4.0 Bamford
3.0 Harrison
Subs
8.0 Roberts
6.0 Berardi

Good summary mate . Our big players are for the best part not fully on their game.
So indecisive in final 1/3 , letting us down.As much as I really hate naming individuals so I wont.. but we all know who they are.

It annoys me no end when players throw themselves to the ground and simulate being headbutted, but it embarrasses me more when they play for Leeds. Bamford was a joke today, not to mention Saiz and Alioski with their diving.

Indeed football needs a deterrent to stop this annoying horrible trait
