Harsh on Huddersfield that, on another day they get at least a point.
Kiko was immense.
Berardi was ok for the slapdash nature of the defence but his aerial deficiency was evident in 2 of their best chances for Mounie and Grant and he lost possession more then any other player, distribution was awful.
Surprised to see so much praise tbh on here a lot of the match reports have him fairly low.
Costa's worst game for a while imo.
Ali was immense, Ayling was good, White as a dm doesnt work, he drops to deep and allows to much space.
Hernandez was superb, 4 chances created, pretty standard. Harrison grew into the game and an excellent cross.
Love Danny Cowley, such respect for MB and felt he did a decent job today tactically and on another day he gets something.
6 wins in a row and another clean sheet.
Amazing save from Kiko

I should have put young Ollie in my MOM 6 - I used to play in the same side as his uncle in the Leeds Sunday League. He looked very composed for the time that he was on.

Re: Huddersfield Town v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Cooper and Phillips replaced by Alioski and Berardi
An uneasy first-half as the dogs pressed our makeshift defence into making errors. Without KP our players didn't have the luxury of giving the ball to Kalvin who controls our play from the back. We settle much better after break as we attacked with more pace, slicker passing & once again we had our shooting boots on, prior to that only a great save & the woodwork denied us the lead.
Positives
Three points
Top of the league again
Six consecutive victories
Unbeaten in nine games
Scored 15 & conceded 3 goals in those nine games
Another clean sheet (with a disjointed defence)
Won without Phllips who controls our play from the back
Won without Captain Cooper
Pablo performance, outstanding today
Alioski's volley
Pablo's header
Harrison's assist for our 2nd goal
Kiko's saves
Attacking threat of Costa, Hernandez & Harrison
Oliver Casey's debut (how calm is this kid)
Listening to Fulham's defeat on the radio back home
Negatives
Our makeshift defence appeared shaky at times, did well to maintain a clean sheet under the circumstances
Missed Kalvin particularly in the first-half
Their fans
Other highlight of the day
Shook hands & had a brief chat with Tony Dorigo in the club shop after the game
Ratings
9 Casilla
7 Dallas
8 Ayling
7 White
7 Berardi
8 Alioski
7 Costa
7 Klich
9 Hernandez MOTM
8 Harrison
7.5 Bamford

5 chances created by Harrison but you're going to ignore that? 2 for Pablo, 2 for Bamford and one otherCjay wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 8:32 pm Harsh on Huddersfield that, on another day they get at least a point.

White played DMF like Kalvin start of last season, too deep and allowing runners all day...He would become a very good DMF given the chance. But oh no Leeds players have to be 100% brilliant at whatever position they play from the first second of the game...Clean sheet against a very good attacking performance, us with a virgin DMF and a brand new CB partnership. We shouldn't be criticizing that ..it was heroic.

3 chances created for Jack and 4 for Pablo.
He grew into the game imo, poor 1st half (like all of them aside from Kiko) but got better and was one of my motm picks.

Bamford blazes over
Pablo shoots wide
Bamford headed save
Pablo just has to get in the way of his cross to score
There was one other I can't quite remember

To count as a chance created it has to end in a shot, doesnt have to be a good shot or even make it to the goal but has to end in a shot.
So your first 3 would count, the 4th wouldnt and the 5th must have been like the 4th or it would have counted.
He did well, he is improving.

Pointing or saluting... that's the mirror for you
It's all about Movember... apparently a coach will not shave off his moustache until Leeds loose a game.
Headline Whores at it again.

Kiko has been unbelievable for us . He came to the Club at a tricky time (January) and maybe unsettled our defensive players as they were already used to Bailey Peacock Farrell IMO .
He is one changed player and is the main reason we got the 3 points yesterday I believe .
It's so assuring to know that when we are not playing well we somehow still manage to find a win and that in itself is the sort of form that gets team's Promoted , may it long continue.

A huge difference in the way BPF and Kiko play the game. BPF was unsuited to the way we needed a keeper to play, similar to how City and Liverpool both splashed out huge amounts on sweeper keepers. Kiko will still come out at times and be second to the ball but we have to accept that just the same as you have to expect a midfielder to misplace a pass or two every game. Kiko's way of playing has a knock on effect all over the place, our defence can play higher, in turn KP can play higher, our midfield and attack can then play higher and can press better as they have less space to try to cover.leedsmad wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 6:57 am Kiko has been unbelievable for us . Throw in some of the saves he has made as well and he has been a huge signing for us. Just hope he doesn't get banned, or that I have jinxed him.

Sky kept mentioning how Udders had a lot of injuries and a bench full of teenagers.
Fair enough but they failed to mention that had they wanted to they could have had 3 players on the bench who they paid £40mil for.
Isaac Mbenza- £12mil forward/winger.
Adama Diakhaby- £10mil winger.
Terence Kongolo- Record £17mil defender.
Its not so impressive when you realise they had a bench full of kids by choice.

We had Cooper, Phillips, Roberts, Forshaw, Shackleton & Davis unavailable yesterday plus we had five kids on the bench!Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 12:05 pm Sky kept mentioning how Udders had a lot of injuries and a bench full of teenagers.

Wait..you're saying the Pablo goal doesn't count as a chance? Ignoring for a second I don't believe for a chance to be created it has to end in a shot, that's just absurd. That's not down to the creator but the finisher. The chance has been created..Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 9:43 pm To count as a chance created it has to end in a shot, doesnt have to be a good shot or even make it to the goal but has to end in a shot.

Good 3 points, Casilla kept us in it, my mom to be honest. Alioski great strike, Harrison more end product yesterday, glad to say.
Injuries couldn't care less from either side its about the 22 on the pitch and multitude of subs allowed in this era.

The Pablo goal would as it resulted in a shot at goal presumably.
Im just repeating what "chance created" is defined by by Opta.
Far as i know unless the recipient gets some sort of shot away then it isnt a chance.
Otherwise a player could get 10 chances created a game, a lot of things can be defined as a chance surely?

Opta is junk stats, not worth the time or effort even assuming they collect them properly
so again for clarity
Bamford blazes over after Harrison robs Hudds player and passes through
Pablo shoots wide after Harrison finds him on a diagonal
Bamford headed save from a lovely Harrison chipped cross that everyone would be drooling over if it were Pablo
Pablo just has to get in the way of his cross to score - To clarify this is the Pablo goal I'm talking about..the one with the pass of the season as the assist..
There was another but I have no access to the full game and really can't remember it

maybe ...but I have a sneaking suspicion that one was Pablo
Suffice to say Harrison and Pablo were about equal on the day in terms of game impact.
