rab_rant wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 4:15 pm It was quite illuminating to observe the ebb and flow of the comments during the game.

When we we winning there was a deathly silence and an absence of moaning.

We go behind, and all of a sudden there is a spate of comments condemning our play, suddenly everyone has found a voice. Attacking our players and the desisions of the manager... almost pleased that the dire predictions are coming true. Two. injury substitutings put us under tremendous pressure... what you gonna do about a turn of fate like that?

Lord Bamford equalises and i would like to hear some praise. I was under no illusion that it would be a tough game... and I was happy we kept fighting until the end and salvaged a point.

Now to win the next 4 games with a makeshift team🥰🤩😍😘
Isnt that to be expected? People are satisfied and happy then

My stream was behind others in this thread so i largely stayed out of the thread.

Most of us on here are Leeds United fans - why would'nt we be delighted with a last minute equaliser. You must be the most miserable poster on here - never have a good word to say.

You can be happy with an equalizer but still very concerned about everything else though surely?

Is a point vs Brentford at Elland Road a good result? no

Should we be concerned by this trend of dropping points? yes.

We are all fans at the end of the day and everyone loves a last minute equalizer but once that thrill goes away you look at the bigger picture?

Some of the destructive criticism on here though Cjay is wearing a bit thin to be honest. I make no wonder faaip disappears on match days!

My post was a response to Scooby's acerbic post after we scored. Nothing more.

On the Cooper substitution.

Why make three positional changes when one would do by bringing on Cresswell?

Let's face there are many posters who's arrogance is off the scale. Maybe I'm one but I'd say I've been reasonably consistent throughout Bielsa's tenure.

Could not see us getting a second goal and we were beginning to look completely out of ideas. Then up pops our main men, Raphinha for a wicked corner, a brave header on by Ayling and great goal scoring instincts from Bamford.

A bit like Wolves, it felt like a win because it was so unlikely. Had to get 4 points out of the last two games but there are cracks everywhere in the team. Crowd were magnificent yet again and there is a fight in this team that is special.

I’d have a big worry about what Bielsa is at. Not putting on Cresswell for Cooper was a disaster. We lost Ayling at RB(which cost us for their second goal, we lost Dallas in midfield and Harrison did the sub total of nothing for us. It’s kamikaze tactics and hurt us badly - but it could actually have been worse.

Well said Swannie. You just feel the disappointment from all the "realists" that the misery-fest has had to be postponed till we next get beaten.

No there aren't Swanny but you have agree Brentford looked as poor as Watford in the first 45. How the second half unfolded must worry you?

Yawn. No one is miserable we didn't get beat, but it's another 2 points thrown away and a chance to pull clear. We'll see how good this result looks come Christmas.

Delighted indeed at salvaging a point from a poor Brentford team going through a bad spell and a Leeds defence that is improving.

I backed Leeds at 3/1 to grab an equaliser with 20 mins remaining. Bamford is back and so are Leeds with a fighting spirit that will see them over the line and safe from relegation.
If you don't know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.

Dissapointment in not beating a poor Brentford side at home, we managed to scrape a point in the end. Overall, it wasn't a great performance (that's fact), as we need to be winning games like this as it allows us some breathing space.

That ones on Bielsa I'm afraid.
Should have won that at a canter.
Dominated and looked good going forward but shakey in defence.
Why should one substitution affect 3 positional changes when we had a like for like in Cresswell?

Delighted with the last minute equaliser but defence was destabilised by bringing on Harrison for Cooper and the resulting positional changes.
Just bring Cresswell on ffs!

Yes, I am disappointed we didn't get the win Mick. I've supported Leeds Utd for 52 years and get sweaty palms every game because I crave those wins. I didnt actually see the game but it all seemed to go pear shaped after the injuries. Maybe down to odd substitutions? I get people being concerned, I'm concerned as well, but there's not a lot I can do to change it. Whingeing and moaning and slagging off the lads and Bielsa every 5 mins ain't gonna change it either.

Said that at the time 64. Its not like Brentford were putting our defenders under that much pressure throughout the game. It would have been a good game imo to let the kid gain more experience. Once Phillips goes off aswell its all at sea again.
