Re: Crystal Palace v Leeds Utd Match Thread

Are we taking bets on how many shots Dan James will take and not score tonight?

His record this season is 1 goal every 12 shots.

For comparison Rodrigo is 1 in 7

Raph is similar

Harrison is somehow 1 in 5.

James isn't quite at Stuart Dallas levels of useless (1 in 28).

Or Tyler Robert's 1 in 30 which for an attacking player is an absolute disgrace.

But a 1 in 12 record is plainly piss poor.

Never will be a striker in a million years.

Agree but his energy in the press can force a mistake - not to be under estimated how useful that can be.

I often say first goal is crucial but tonight it is even more important. CJAY can mark my stats homework on this. Pretty certain I recently read that Palace haven’t won at home when giving away the first goal and haven’t lost if they scored first.

Also find it odd that Summerville is not on the bench, particularly when we have 5 defenders.

Rather harsh on Dallas - he is one of those players who isn’t shy to have a pop when there is nothing on. But he gets blocked quite regularly as he tends to be taking shots no closer than the edge of the box.

But a 1 in 12 record is plainly piss poor.

Jesse is paying homage to Bielsa by playing our little Welsh square peg in a round hole :)

Let's hope this doesn't indicate that he sees a player inside Tyro too

Never been this nervous since the promotion season.

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.
