It is tricky to say because we often seem more clinical in tthe matches that are open, take the Boro matches this year and last. I think sometimes in those type of games because you have more space when attacking it means that the chances created are better - a bit similar to how teams seemed to score a far higher percentage against Bielsa's Leeds than we did. We'd create loads of chances but when the oppositon got a chance it was often the case that we were really stretched.

I agree there's definitely a strong case to be made for us creating better chances in open games, I just think that the gulf in quality is even more apparent between prem and champ than when we went up last time. Not top 6 untouchables now but more like top 10 for those that come up now imo. Those teams would also have to fail to score to make us scoring mean something which I don't see happening. I like Bogle and would assume he'd be the starter at right back but defensively he would get rinsed in prem as was the case with Sheff utd in the prem.

Defenders will be faster and better drilled negating the counter attacking speed we rely on in open games from James/Solomon etc. I also don't believe that this type of football suits newly promoted sides with attacking football needing confidence which I think we'd be low on at times.
With FFP its still dicey in the first year if you go dangerously balls out like Forest in the transfer window. I'd hope we'dinvest wisely and in top youth ready to come straight back up if we go down and then look to stay up.

Ipswich/Southampton getting hammered who were better sides than us last year (Don't 100% believe we are that much better off in starting 11 quality to last year but lower standard of teams coming down negates it). I do think that var and prem refs would help us though as teams like Blackburn use shirt pulling and niggly half fouls that upset our play to great effect and its not tolerated in prem.

Genuinely not moaning just accept/think that its unlikely this squad (even with serious investment of 5+ proven players) would be able to impose our game on prem teams when we aren't running away with games against the likes of Blackburn/Derby (away form not being solid). Buendia would be the star of this side and can't get a game even with injuries kind of thing.

We're top I'm happy though for the here and now, lot of games recently and think that's took a toll on us. Same with Burnley, Sheff utd and Sunderland recently. Mot.

my god, every time i watch us this year we are SO unbelievably boring to watch. I thought winning week in week out was meant to be fun?! Such slow build up with a thousand sideward and backward passes. Zero attacking intensity, barely any chances created. It's so so so dull to watch - but obviously not complaining about us being top, it's just really dull to watch.

Our current three strikers have no idea, on the few occasions they lumber into the box, they miss-hit the ball.

We seemed to launch it a lot sooner and because Blackburn pressed high we couldn't play it around the back with the same ease that we have done previously. For me we needed more of the patient football to draw them out and us find the gaps which should appear if you beat the high press.

The Aaronsen goal the other day is how it should be played. Slowly moving it but then being able to suddenly go to 100mph for a couple of passes to open the opposition up - however Blackburn were a better drilled defensive unit.

The injuries & the stop-start nature of the game didn't help matters.

Rovers are not easy to play against. Very physical, plenty of fouls (some went unnoticed) & lots of time-wasting from minute one to one hundred.

Poor result but we still manage to increase our lead at the top. We can’t expect to win every game especially against well drilled teams like Blackburn so take our luck with other results & move on.

Unfortunately Eustace has Farke's number, too easy for him to get a result. Better hope Russell Martin doesn't get a Championship job lol. No point researching how teams play every week, we all know it'll be 11 behind the ball, so best to work on a different tactic to use against them.
