Yep both goals from our mistakes, rather than great play, which is frustrating. Same with the Norwich game really.

I felt we should've finished it off at 2-1, the Aaronson chance in particular, with Gnonto and Joseph either side, but he took the wrong option. There was another chance where Rothwell was in acres of space to shoot, but they ended up breaking for a corner.

I just hope these points don't end up costing us. It's not Sunderland I'm worried about, it's Burnley and the blunts. We can't afford to drop more points next game.

Absolute waste of effort trying to work that out.
There will be many errors over a season that can contribute to missed points.
Unfortunately its masked any praise that should’ve been awarded for a good performance including Farke I might add.

What's really annoying is we were seconds away from developing a bit of a gap at thd top of the table ,it all very close up there.
I don't recall so many teams clumped together last season?

I’ve seen the slo-mo video that’s doing the rounds but the supposed divot only appears after the ball bounces, ie the ball flattening the grass because it’s not there before the ball bounces, imo

Possible but the grass looks perfect before the ball bounces and after it’s just the imprint of the ball before the camera pans to the left.
Anyway, it’s just a mistake and these things happen - I’d still keep him as first choice of our keepers, it’s because we had “won’ the game that grates with people and if it had happened earlier in the game it wouldn’t seem as costly.

That game was far better than what just happened. We can win this league now, we’ve gone to the team at top of the league and won. They know we are better than them now.

An efficient performance OB and deserved the win.

The problem is that for all the hard graft and good things we did it was all unravelled by what happened at the end.

When you place unquestioned faith in suspect players it is always gonna bite you. And I don't judge Meslier over one mistake, cos that can happen to anyone.

But over several seasons he's been suspect, just like Bamford up front. But it seems like every coach we've had is blind to the inept performances of these guys.

So, if you accept that level of performance fair enough, but you also have to accept the consequences of continually placing your faith in these dudes, when you didn't deem it necessary to replace them with better.

The Meslier debacle is nowhere near that. Not even close

I get it mate. We read and jest with each other’s match day posts, and you’ll know I’m not a fan of Bamford or Meslier, but that aside I truly feel for the kid. He is a weak link imo, he was a wunderkind when Bielsa had him, but I honestly don’t see him improving. Whether it’s the coaching I don’t know.
I would move him on in a heartbeat but like you say, that’s on an assimilation of the past few seasons, not last nights unfortunate cockup. I understand the frustration - my reaction was I was speechless - I just don’t like the way some posters have gone about head hunting.

A good thing I suppose, given this time last year Leicester and Ipswich were miles ahead. The problem is, the blunts keeping winning. By November international break, we should start to see the runners and riders.

Sunderland's good young prospect Charlie Rigg picked-up the ball 30 yards out & passed out to right where Bogle & either Ranazani or was it Gnonto should have stopped the cross, then it falls to their forward where Meslier makes a great save, only for the ball come back out to their man who started the move, so he has been allowed to run into our box to score without one of our chumps picking him up, why was Rodon, Struijk & others rooted to the ground?

Defend like we did at times last night, we'll gift more points.

Their first was well worked and well deserved. I don't blame the defence for that one. You could say our first was offside and our second wouldn't have been scored if they defended it better. But isn't that every single goal scored?
