Pleased for the manager and the players, never an easy place to go and play. That result should instil a lot more confidence and believe. Though I'm sure Farke will be playing it down, and rightly so.
Still find it hard to understand some peoples complaining about players and tactics during the game. It wont always be pure football, players are always going to make mistakes and the manger isn't immune to making the wrong decisions.
After all we have been through we are in an upward spiral and things are much brighter than last season. Long way to go but definitely starting to look promising, just need to avoid too many injuries and silly suspensions.

Yep, we wouldn't have scored the first or second v the wendies, as we wouldn't have had the space. That's where long range shooting and set pieces are vitally important.

I'm glad that I'm not alone in thinking that we might FINALLY have a real striker ( even strikers) in our team. Also, am I being too optimistic to say that we have FINALLY the beginnings of a very capable defense? An abundance of riches on the bench too.
Other teams must surely be looking at this result and know that they have a problem coming down the tracks at them. MOT!!

I predicted a 3-1 win with Piroe scoring the first goal today. I actually had a vision (this morning) that Piroe was going to get a hat-trick today but that wasn't to be: not sad that that didn't come true tbh. Would have taken this result any day of the week...

That's the only option James offers tbh, to come on with 20 mins left when a side are chasing an equaliser and more open. You don't need to spend £25m on that though.

OK, it’s quite a low bar but there are certainly several good signs.

Going forward on the break we look excellent. Defensively pretty solid for a change but obviously there will be stiffer competition ahead.

Ampadu and Gray look great in midfield and at last we have a decent bench.

It’s the most optimistic I’ve been for some time.

To be fair to Dan James the pass to him from Rutter was very weak/slow so it was behind him rather than in front of him. As such it looks worse as DJ is trying to stop his forward momentum and to be honest does well to get anything on it and steer it towards Piroe.

If he does come into contention then hopefully it is alongside either Piroe or Rutter and whoever it is is playing with confidence and scoring. A lot of our matches when Bamford played were against teams parking the bus, was his record in the prem for us better because teams didn't simply park the bus against us like they did in the championship?

At the moment though I think we have the luxury of not trying to rush Bamford back and if it is 20 minutes here and there it can build up his sharpness and confidence so that if he does get to start matches he is in form.

Yeah I felt the same. Was great to see Rutter's reaction to Piroe's first goal and then to see his big smile as he was coming off. Easy to forget he is just a young lad and it isn't his fault we splashed the money on someone with potential but far from being the finished article.

I wouldn't have thought Bamford will be starting unless one of those two has a really bad run,an injury, or Farke decides either of them needs a breather. Up to Bamford to take his chances when they come and hopefully he can build up his fitness without any pressure of being rushed back so that his body is in the best shape to seeif he can get back to his best.
