It's amortization. The most stupid exception they brought in. Let's make a rule then figure out some loopholes for the big clubs. FFP should be about the P&Ls and nothing else. Then we wouldn't be having to sell academy players.

And it massively helps the likes of Man Citeh and Chelski. Poach loads of young players, then flog them for far more and claim it all as 'pure profit'. It's the clubs who develop the young players who miss out. Like the one Man Citeh poached off us. We miss out on a potential £30m or so, while they make a 'profit' of £10m.

Plus I think Citeh were arguing that FFP should credit them 10m a year for their academy. Hypocrisy.

It's not 'their' academy anyway! They just poach from other clubs and take all the credit

I thought the Cresswell deal with Toulouse was off.

He doesn't want to go but I half expect he'll want out of Leeds now for them pushing it.

Players have a choice, same as Archie has.

If a club wants a player out they will get them out.

The only way they can't is if a player is willing to waste careers playing reserve football and training with the u21s.

Clubs will ban them from training grounds and all sorts (plenty of articles about it).

Most players understandably given the choice between that and leaving will leave.

Toulouse might be off, but others are still interested.

So who wants to admit changing this thread title?

If he cant meet the standards Lerds set then surely then it is best he is off?

And early too so we can bring in a proper player.

It's a cheap title. Very clicky. Based on opinion and rumour. Have we sunk to the levels of Connor and the rest of the click bait muppets?

I'm not buying into this Gray family brand stuff.

Archie isn't going unwillingly or for little money and as far as I'm concerned by inserting his own release clause means he has intent to secure his own future at some point anyway and to further his career right now is his own choice (it doesn't always work out, I know), but he is going to earn far more at Spurs than at Leeds and I'm sure they'll help him become a better player, they see that in him, at the end of the day it has nothing to do with the Gray family as I am sure they would have liked him to develop at Leeds - but it's a business!

If it helps our P&S and allows us to build a better future then so be it - no player is an island, they all have a price on their head.

I'm fairly sure the 49ers are not one bit interested in anything other than a profiteering enterprise that will no doubt flip this club to Red Bull.

This is the modern game and I'd love Gray to stay but he's been in the shop window for a while and our lack of promotion was the death knell for our top players, maybe this deal secures the future of some of our talent and secures Joe Rodon's permanent
move to E.R.

Was quite angry when I made the original title tbf

Just made the new one for my own amusement.

Tell you what, I will change it to something more modestly angry.

I agree. The more sensible Leeds journalists are saying nothing of the sort. Seems like all the Gray family stuff has been made up and retweeted to cause some noise. There were rumours that Farke had quit over the deal too. It's OK to speculate over the rumours. But don't take anything as fact until you've heard it so.

You will never hear anything that puts the club in a negative light from people like Cross and Smyth.

They rely on them for work, that's just logical no?

But the Waccoe guy for example proved he clearly has reliable contacts at the club as he reported the Brentford stuff hours before someone like Graham Smyth, so he clearly has a decent source? Why would he bother making up anything else? Could have just left it at that and everyone applauding his itk status.

Heidi is a very well known supporter, her twitter page has more followers than this forum, she will be aware of that, why would she say things she knows people will read just to antagonise her fellow supporters?

I understand scepticism of supposed itk people but it doesn't make sense for those 2 people specifically to make stuff up.

The people who do that want twitter engagement or people to watch the podcast they make so they say things for attention.

The Waccoe guy nobody even seems to know who he is, he just pops on occasionally posts his information then leaves (doesn't advertise a twitter account or anything to get more information) and Heidi doesn't need more exposure she's well known enough as it is.

So that imo is the key bit here, they haven't anything to gain by making up information?

Besides havent we as a fans seen enough over the years to know that the owners and directors of our club aren't always the most truthful? We've been lied to and manipulated often enough over the last few decades.

And we are in a totally new era, with new people, who seem to want to take LUFC forward professionally and sensibly,

Where's the credit to DF in all of this huh?

Where was Gray 1 year ago huh ?
Not dependent on Google, the www or 'stats' - Just a guy that puts his eyes to full use on the beautiful game :geek: ...That Ayling goal and "You couldn't script it  " - Dirty Leeds B@stard.

I'm with you.
Love Archie... but this is a business. The king is dead, long live the king.
Sorry to lose the lad and would love to see him back, but until then, who's next then? Not like he's irreplacable, yeah?!

Good business is that.

Rodon and Pascal will make a great pairing and Ampadudu will slot back MF.
