Exactly Ian, and what could any fcking incoming new Skandi or Spanish manager have known what to do eh ?

Who'd have thought this last July huh ?

If i stated on here last year we'd be selling Gray for £40m next year, and getting a crackin full bloodied LUFC warrior as a CH instead of some Spanish Pansy twat playing there for virtually half his price, i'd be laughed off the site (as per)

Leave the fcker to get on with his work, he might've his faults, but he's earned another crack at what he nearly acheived by a whisker.

And please everyone stop being taken in by feckin children, DF has layed decent foundations, just let him get on with it, and give him a decent chance.

This is still not his team yet.

Seems like all the Gray family stuff has been made up and retweeted to cause some noise. There were rumours that Farke had quit over the deal too. It's OK to speculate over the rumours. But don't take anything as fact until you've heard it so.

I presume the idea of him coming back on loan is pure fantasy. Someone mentioned it earlier.

The thing is we'll be forced to play him or he'll be recalled, ala Nketiah and Clarke. But playing u21s isn't going to beneficial for him either.

You mean U21 for Spurs? Is that all he can expect atm.

I can’t see Spurs spending £40M and sticking him in the U21’s.

Obviously, up to Archie to secure a place in the first team, but he will be training with them for sure.

Can't see where he's going to play. Porro is first choice RB and he isn't starting in midfield at 18. Expect bench/u21s then a Championship loan in January.

It's not £40m, it's £8m per year in ffp terms. He isn't going to be first choice RB or CM, so if not u21s, it'll be a Championship loan.

I don’t understand all the FFP gubbins (no matter how hard I try), but I’d be surprised if he’s not an option from the bench for Spurs/Carabao Cup etc.

Spurs are in Europe - Archie will get plenty of mins, it will not be comparative to last season, which in truth might be better for his progression.

How much did they spend on Sessegnon and he's just been released on a free? Clubs just want the 'next big thing' so no one else can have them.

Heart says he looks plain wrong in the Spurs shirt.

Head says we got good money and a player back who is vital to our defensive spine.

Jack Clark and now Archie Grey to Spurs.

Who next? Hope there's no one coming through with the surname of Jones or Giles

From the official site

Gray makes Premier League move.

Leeds United can confirm Archie Gray has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee, after the North London outfit met a release clause that was triggered by the club’s failure to get promoted at the first attempt.

Gray progressed through the ranks of the Academy at Thorp Arch and became involved with the first team setup at the age of just 15, when he was named on the bench for the Whites against Arsenal in the top-flight in 2021.

He subsequently went on to make his senior debut in last season’s Sky Bet Championship opener against Cardiff City at Elland Road, aged 17.

Going on to become a mainstay and thriving in the side under manager Daniel Farke at right-back, he played a key role in helping the Whites reach the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

Throughout his time at the club, Gray also featured on the international stage, earning 24 caps for England at youth level, from Under-15s to Under 21s.

He now departs having made a total of 52 first team appearances for the Whites in all competitions.

Understanding the attraction of Premier League and European football, the club, with a heavy heart, agreed the transfer, but the move has strengthened the board’s resolve to ultimately return Leeds to a position where it can meet the footballing ambitions of even its brightest stars.

Whilst we understand that supporters will be hugely disappointed to lose such a home-grown talent, and a family name so synonymous with Leeds United, the move improves the club’s chance to compete for automatic promotion next season by increasing our ability to build a competitive squad within the league’s financial control regulations.

Everyone at Leeds United is heartbroken to see one of our own depart and would like to thank Archie for all his efforts and professionalism. He leaves with the very best wishes for his future career and in the knowledge that Leeds will always be his home.

Absolutely... It's a far better deal that the Brentford deal would have been.

Best of luck Archie lad and best wishes for ya, I hope ya do well, I'm definitely watching out for how he goes.

I've got some interest in Spuds now.

What will be interesting in how Uncle and Grandad react, will be if he eventually pulls an England shirt on and not Scottish.

And if we thought there was any in house fighting here, then that should definitely ignite some flame.
