Don't envy you having to put up with your son chirping on either....DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 6:32 pm Well that was chastening. We were awful in possession for the majority of the game, Perri was nervous in possession, which didn’t help. But less time on the ball is the difference at this level. Tough watch, but it is how react, we will not be playing against this level week in week out.
Not going to read through the match forum comments yet, I am down, I do not want to read content that is ultra negative.

Definitely worst film ever material.White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 6:06 pm 100% Jay
I set off watching that Happy Gilmore 2 and knocked it off. Apparently Adam Sandler is being investigated under the Trade Description Act as officers suspect the film has zero comedic value.
First one was good as well.
Caddyshack still the greatest

We've never been good at set pieces under Farke and passing out from the back was ridiculousWhite Lotus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 6:31 pm He did work on it.
They're just in a different league to us, it took Arteta 3 years and over £500m to get up with the big guns.
It's fine to say that without saying we should be beating Arsenal.
We should be competitive and do our bit well, we didn't
We aren't a League 2 team, we should atleast be vaguely competitive

We can’t compete at that level, absolutely nowhere near that level.
Losing at The Emirates won’t see us going down, way more important games to come against teams at our level.
Dust ourselves down, and get ready for Newcastle

It’s quite relaxing in a way, in the champ even at this stage of the season every game feels like a must win and it’s a pretty stressful 9 months, at least in the prem it’s more of a chill for a few months until we get to feb/ march if course.

Yeah, they won't get another 5-0 all year. The overhype on here is a bit embarrassing. The least we should expect from professional footballers is to do the basics.

I agree, I expected us to be a bit more competitive. But we weren't... so be it.
Maybe a small thing, but I do wonder if we'd have had a bit more spine with Amps in midfield and as captain.
Probably best to let it go for a day or 2, but right now I'd like to see a new look team against Newcastle. Nobody covered themselves in glory today so ring the changes.
Bijol on for Rodon? start Harrison instead of James? start Nmecha (hopefully also see DCL next week). Longstaff start instead of Gruev against his old side. etc.
Can Bornaauw play at LB or even RB ??
Noah starts instead of Willie?
Bit of punishment for Parri? Start Darlow?
But then suppose also an argument for not knee-jerk reacting?
Lots to throw around and think about. Lots of ????

Ok lets hear how you would have went about it.

It won't but that's not the takeaway here. It's how far we're behind.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 6:43 pm We can’t compete at that level, absolutely nowhere near that level.
