I’ve seen their winning goal from a few angles now and the ball is on the floor as he gets a fingertip to it and that’s harder to flick away than if it had just bounced an inch higher.
Still felt he may have done better with it but it’s fine margins.
Ironically, if he hadn’t got a fingertip to it, it probably would’ve have looked a better goal and he might not have got the stick for it.
As I said before, it comes through a lot of bodies and he sees it late. I can't lay the blame fully with him, there was a lot of poor defending before that point.

Can I suggest we take a step back from the personal digs and insults.
Sure YS. Strange though that Irish Ian is the only person on here who feels the need to reply to everything that I post....I was minding my own business, but he's clearly been out to wind me up.
And playing the racism card is risible. For all I know about him he might have been born in Manchester and now lives in Ireland. I mean I could create an ID called " Mongolian Peter " or " Belgian Darren " if I was so minded. It would mean nothing though. And for all I know he might be living in Bolivia, Montenegro or Iceland.
Anyway, I've filtered him now. Always the best policy, though you can filter a troll but they will never filter you - they enjoy the sport too much to do that.

Probably time to get behind Perri and hope he settles over time as it's not as if he's made any howlers. Surprised at Farke for not being more supportive in public to be honest.

So from your post I take you think this lad is an excellent keeper in top form
No, but I just don't subscribe to dumping him at the minute.
When we signed him I was concerned, I mean who wants to be a goalie in Brazil?
He has Kiko vibes.
Maybe end of season we can convince him he is homesick

Goalkeeping has a new dimension to deal with the way corner kicks have gone.
Perri’s kicking ability is what it is. At this stage in his career, it is probably beyond coaching. Hence the long throws.
I can live with the kicking shortcoming if he can use his 8 ft 10 frame to dominate his box and blow every opponent into the stands when he attacks and claims crosses.
Cmon Lucas - use that physique.

More often than not you get a free kick too if you do, unless you punch the opponent’s head instead of the ball.

Maybe our goalkeeper coach sucks? (Whoever he is).
Meslier was similar, debut his passing was sensational.
Few years with Orta's mate who'd never played above amateur level and that went.
Just looked we have another non league footballer as coach.
I agree. I was at Meslier's debut at the Emirates and I couldn't believe how good he was. He has gone backwards IMO and that is down to him, coaching or a bit of both. I think we need a new coach.

I was there too!
I was raving about Meslier's impressive display all the way back home.
I think Perri should feign an injury and then spend a few weeks in intensive remedial goal keeping school to address some of his issues before his confidence goes completely. The owners will want to preserve his value.
Leeds coach Ed Wooten has almost 22 years as a professional coach under his belt.
He was worked with Farke at Norwich before Leeds.

But he was a nothing player
Same as the previous guy.
I've never understood how you can specialise in a position coaching wise but have been a crap one yourself?
Physical stuff? Fitness? Maybe fine.
But technical stuff? Positional, handling etc.
How can someone who was probably no better as a player than many of the fans watching coach a top level goalie? How can they know?
Some of the greatest golf coaches weren’t top draw players. They have a skill for teaching/coaching.
Equally great players don’t necessarily make great coaches.
Same with managers.
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Managers I can get.
You can learn to coach or be a great motivator or be very naturally gifted in analysing stuff and whatnot.
But 1 to 1 coaching of a specific position? I've never quite got.
Surely to know where to stand or how to handle the ball or anything technical you need first hand knowledge?
If Thierry Henry told a striker where to run or pass or how to finish you'd listen because he has done it.
But someone whose never even been a professional player I don't understand, not even elite just professional
Like you say it would help if an ex player gave advice because they have done it - however in this day and age it is a lot easier to become an expert as you can watch countless videos, go on courses etc. So you know all the theory, you can then get the keeper to try the stuff, video him, show him what he is doing explain how to do it better etc etc.
The flip side would be that an ex top level keeper might struggle to explain how to do what came naturally to them. We heard that sort of thing levelled at Glenn Hoddle who was supposedly frustrated, as a manager, that the players, england internationals no less, couldn't do what he could.
So for me I wouldn't rule someone out for the job because they were or weren't an ex professional.

I gave the Tiger Woods example for proof that even the greats need a coach.
Partly maybe for confidence but also to chat things through. Maybe a keeper is a lonely position in some ways. I dont agree that any coach for any position needs to have been top level otherwise there would be a dearth of coaches.

Plenty of examples in the game no doubt.
Truth be told none of us are anywhere near qualified to assess the coaching staff at Leeds or anywhere else.
Regarding Perri particularly, what did worry me was his inability to organize a defensive wall in the Bournemouth and Villa games.
He should have learned that a long time ago.

A person who has brains, can get across his or hers ideas in a good way and can look at different aspects of a game, doesnt have to have played it themselves to do a good job.
Its maybe rare to see it deployed at very high levels of the game but it does exsist.
