Five points in January with two games to play. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 4:58 pm It is and we should be safe now bar a collapse, just interesting we want to leave it late to have a go .. Gnonto and Tanaka was the quality that was missing early.
Three points in each of the final four months would be sufficient.

Good to see you again mate, enjoy tomorrowOrange Box wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 8:34 pm Wonderful, nothing like it. Absolutely buzzing, and a late winner, the perfect irony to beating Fulham. Only one team in it. Brilliant.

Buonanotte is going to make the difference, once he settles in, a class above Gnonto.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 5:10 pm I'd play Gnonto over him, Buonanotte will be after his place too

He needs to work on that. Makes such a difference if CBs chip in with some goals. It's a lack of composure.ElKapitan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 6:30 pm Yeah I guess, good way of looking at it, though I would expect the level of player we have to have taken one or more of those opportunities. Think the average for staying up is to take one of 4 chances per game and think we created 6 so not far off.
Agree on the fight today was brilliant to see, but don't think you ever deserve anything in football, Newcastle is a good example where I felt they left everything on the field. Just wish we had that ruthless streak a bit more.... Struijks free header today etc (4 similar chances this season).... Again expectations I guess, is Struijk a van dyke?.... No.... Else as he said in his interview "he would have looked to join a bigger club in the summer if an offer came in"..... It didn't.
Struijk doesn't need to be dropped but he can be a bit of a liability when he has time to think. This has been an issue for ages, but then he does have a great passing range and is left footed.

A great acquisition to our squad, excellent in his first five starts, deserves his place in our first XI.

That for me is the big difference between us and the teams in the relegation places. Wolves have looked awful all season, Burnley have huffed and puffed but lack any real quality and West Ham have looked sh*te - and looked sh*te against a team playing sh*te today.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 8:36 pm We bossed them. We have in the last couple of months looked a match for every team we have faced.

Wasn’t there one manager who won a European trophy with Spurs? I think he was Australian.

The broadcast I watched the match on had Efan Ekoku on as co-commentator. Ex Journeyman footballer for those that didn't know. The bais was so one sided - Foolum this, Foolum that, what 3 points wold do for Foolumb blah, blah, blah. Unitil we scored and then he came out with we were the berret team in the second half and also we edged it in the first half.........
