At the start they were saying that they had just come over on the ferry today from Liverpool and had watched the Manchester Derby. The singer said it didnt matter to him as the band were all Liverpool, apart from the drummer who supported Leeds.

This promoted a few cheers in the crowd, so he sprang into singing Marching on Together.

Just got back, missed everything from 30 mins on. I knew West Ham would win, so it's a massive win today. Unfortunately, we can't seem to truly pull away from the bottom 3. However we're reeling in the likes of Bournemouth, Palace and Spurs, so hopefully we can start to look up the table.

Great result today, rather frenetic and lacking quality at times. But a massive 3 points considering we were missing two keys players who are instrumental in the threat we pose at the set piece.

Everyone worked their bollocks off - the pressing at times was very impressive. Gruev acted as the trigger on a couple of occasions - I thought he was pretty decent, particularly his work rate.

Everton isn't until next Monday, so 8 day break. Hopefully Buonanotte will be ready to start in place of Okafor.

Couldnt watch live this morning, but managed to see the game later.

For me, we were very worthy winners - should've been 2 or 3. We must get more composure in the opposing box.

Fulham are a good team. I'm glad we got them while their Nigerian players are away. Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze have been immense in Afcon. No doubt to me they missed them today.

They shouldve been down to 10 for 2/3 of the game. How did Wilson not get a red for that tackle on Gabi?!

Okofor our weak link. For me, he sits too deep when he's supposed to be DCL's linkman. Nmecha - in spite of 3 shitty first touches - plays "with" DCL. We looked immediately more aggressive.

I dont quite share all the enthusiasm for Willie here. To me in our new formation he is not quite as impactful and so is best to come off the bench with 20 or so to play.
Will be interesting to see how our new boy fits in. For now though, I'd start Nmecha in place of Okofor.

Other players worth a mention today - Gudmundsson was outstanding. Amps was, as usual, fantastic - what a cross for the goal. But his yellow card was silly. I know what he was saying, but still a silly thing to do imo.

Gruev worked really hard - but I still prefer Stach starting when fully fit. Justin - again - fantastic.

Interesting how we saw Bogle and Justin both fit into the formation together- worked well.

We need at least a point at Everton - very doable.

I gave Nmecha a hard time last week & he scores the winner so……. Nmecha is stih and shouldn’t play again, worst player I’ve ever seen
Tbf I had a family thing today & didn’t see a minute of the game but reading through the comments it seems our members argue more when we win than lose. Strange

I think there’s an aspect of things being clearer when we lose. When we win, the inevitable “what needs fixing” conversation gets more intricate/ nuanced and can lead to a more diverse set of perspectives…which inherently can lead to more arguing.

But I am interested in why you didn’t mention him in your original post. Was it because it suggests one manager overcame the basket case of a club to deliver silverware… and it wasn’t a European.

The broadcast I watched the match on had Efan Ekoku on as co-commentator. Ex Journeyman footballer for those that didn't know. The bais was so one sided - Foolum this, Foolum that, what 3 points wold do for Foolumb blah, blah, blah.
