Massive shame not to get the 3 points to warm our cockles over the next 3 weeks but a point leaves us 5th which is a good start to the season in anyone’s money.
Indeed WhiteRose.
We were 6th place for one game only after our slender victory over Everton last season, the rest of the season we were 12th to 18th.

this was never going to be the walk in the park that some thought after the Newcastle victory and perhaps the dampening of expectations is a good thing. we are still finding our feet in this league and we will need luck and opponents under performing to achieve results like Monday nights. the important thing is we didn't lose and if we can keep that up then this can be a really good season.
He did when he moved Justin into midfield.... no clue what the formation was at the end with James and Bahoya at wing back maybe. If not then we played the last few minutes with just two in defence

from the east stand have to say I didn't pick up a formation change but perhaps it was because how woeful the substitutes played and their total ineffectiveness.

Glad to still be unbeaten, but these are the kind of games we should be targeting wins - home game v a bottom half side
Got Arsenal next, which will probably be another hiding, and then scum. So a bit of a missed opportunity to not turn up.
Unsure if scum will be as strong & resolute as Palace were today.
Fairly uninspiting today - funny how often that happens when I get up to watch a 6 am Sunday kick off
Never really looked like scoring. But Palace didnt have much of a threat either.
Minor concern because we just looked very average today. Much of the fluidity was just off.
Bogle had a couple of swings and complete misses. Then was offside twice when Okafor was looking to put a pass over to him - ironically that was around the time when the commentator added that he'd been close to an England call up
Tanaka didnt add much. Stach seemed off with most things. Okafor's end product was poor.
At least Ampadu was putting himself about and having a lot of control of the game.
I'd be a little concerned. Its two home draws now and although Brentford and Palace are much better teams than we give them credit for, we should still be expecting to win at least one of those. But the concerns are less since we've done so well in other games. Newcastle made us look like a champions league team. Palace made us look like a relegation candidate. I think it was just an off day though.

We are also unbeaten. Which is a big positive going into the Arsenal game. However I think we were last season as well
Difference is Arsenal game was our second game into last season.
And looking at our line-up & formation from last season, we have improved in five or six positions.
Tom the Cat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 5:59 pmThat was the worst performance by Leeds that I have seen in ages, and against a side that we should have beaten. We were very very lucky not to loose. No closing down, far too many loose passes and if memory serves me right one shot on goal in each half. If it hadn't been for Trafford we would have been stuffed.
Hopefully youre just saying that on the last 3 years. Because in the couple of years prior to that there were many performances way worse than this one.
Palace have won the FA cup and a Euro trophy in the past 2 years. This doesnt come close to losing Wednesdays academy in the carabao cup a year ago

I thought tanaka was mainly ineffective, with a couple of nice moments thrown in. Not his best game, second to Ampadu but miles better than Stach, who I think is only on the field for his free kicks right now. Aaronson offers nothing against a physical team.
I agree that Stach and Tanaka were completely ineffective today. But I do think Aaronson brought a little spark later that had been missing from the rest (bar Okafor)

They are so easily knocked off the ball it's not funny Leon. They are not up to this standard of football and should have been shipped out already.
When people are braying about a strong bench that includes Zetterer, Longstaff, James and Aaronson they must still think we're in the Championship.
Pray that we don't get injuries
And then there are those who dream of European football next season

Just got in and the revelation of today is that there isn’t enough beer in Leeds to disguise how BORING that game was. Ampadu apart there wasn’t a single player earned his corn today. No fighting for second balls, no closing down, no composure on the ball. No urgency. It seemed as though every surge forward was halted prematurely to pass it back again. I thought those days had gone? Did we have a single shot on target? I can’t recall one.
There was a superb save from their keeper from DCL
