As I've posted previously I won't attend another cup game until we start showing some ambition, I wouldn't give them the pleasure of ripping me off again.

I suspect we'll only end up with more u23s we'll never play.

True, much work to be done really.

In truth we should be trying to bring in 2 or 3 first team ready players in order to enable us to do just that with the youngsters.

We arent of course.

Yes, definitely time to improve the 11, rather than expanding the squad.

People like Harrison and Dallas and Ali and replaced with the 3 first team ready players we should be after to improve our starting 11 like we should be?

Cjay wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 5:15 pm Shacks, Davis, Struijk and probably Poveda (although i like him) should be on loan in the EFL really.

Getting 30 40 games a season, learning there craft.

Certainly the first 3.

Casey, Greenwood, Jenkins etc are academy level and probably need a season or 2 in League 2, the difference between them and fully grown league 2 men was huge.

Next season we need 4 or 5 new players without any doubt imo.

Kiko ffs get him gone for his own sake if nothing else.
All true mate, my blood is still boiling.
We'll need to keep hold of Struijk, before loaning, as we've no CBs available.
The one good thing is that this performance has demonstrated this squad is nowhere near good enough for anything but mid-table to survival Prem (especially if injuries/suspensions kick in).
So the overhaul needs to begin now and continue in the summer, as we progress we'll have a squad that's good enough to compete at the top level = time and money and no sentimentality.
Stevie Wonder would be shocked by that performance, even with the sound turned off on his telly 8-)

When the second half began I was looking round trying to figure out who was playing where. I suspect our players were too. Then they drove a bus through the middle for the first and our keeper gave them the second.

Game over.

Oh and for the hopeful Spurs are 3 nil up.

I've been shouting for Shacks and Davis to be in the first team, but I won't after that :zip:

I don't blame you mate. The club and players need to perform sufficiently well to maintain respect and support from us

I'm confident enough to say we'll never win a trophy in my lifetime. Closest was Coca Cola Cup final in 96.

I agree. Ali would be if Koch and Llorente weren't injured. But if Struijk was on loan who'd have played CB with Koch, Llorente and Cooper out?

A side like ours can only cope with one of two of the U23s playing at any time.
Too many today starting was compounded by them playing them out of their preferred positions. ( Davis prefers LB ) KP and Struilk too.

It just was awful to behold.
