I like this lad Jack, doesn't down everything that is Leeds as some seem to do.
He attends all our home games, so a man of my own heart.

Thing is, we were really quite good today, we went toe to toe with an established side and got the better of it over 90 minutes, in spite of the fact that they could bring on the stardust element that we lack.
But no points, so Leeds must be sh1te.

Some folk refuse to accept the level of debt we were carrying. We sold Archie to stay within PSR for the 23/24 season. We then sold Rutter and would not have made a significant profit. Cresswell and Summerville would have been profit, but that is pretty much about it. We had 90 million of debt, including staged payments to consider on players Orta signed.
We have spent 70 million on transfers and then there are the new players wages to factor. Signing a player out of contract likely comes with a significant signing on fee. Particularly in the case of DCL. The existing players will have received a significant uplift in wages following promotion.
There is no financial comparison to be made when we were promoted the last time, as we were pretty much debt free. Ironically like Sunderland this season, who also sold Bellingham for pure profit.

Hopefully so, we knew it would be harder this season and more emphasis on team play and coaching to make the difference so let's Hope.
It's good to be competitive but competitive teams have been relegated before, goals matter most.

Technically you could sell a player end of the season to make ffp tbf (same as we did when we forced Archie out).DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 8:16 pm Some folk refuse to accept the level of debt we were carrying. And we were told Rutter was a surprise and unnecessary sale (so we should have more room than we expected but perhaps a bit of pr fluff who knows).
What confuses me is the bids for Paixao and Muniz, nearly £60mil, where was that coming from?
They said they would have had to sell someone , but who? Even The Athletic have been really scarce on any interest in our players so where were these offers coming from? You can't magic bids that aren't coming so how did we know we'd get some?
What if no bids came?
If we are tight against ffp would you really spend £60mil in the hope someone comes in to buy your players? Seems very risky.
That confuses me.
Had we had whispers of interest on James for example you'd understand it but wasn't any, so how were they going to guarantee these funds coming in that we desperately needed for these deals?

Not from me, naturally disappointed but not in our performance. I thought we contained Fulham until their late subs turned the game and were the better team for large parts of the game but we really need to find a way to score when we’re on top.
A point today & next week would have been ok but we could do with a win v Wolves to keep the baying hoards happy.

But there is no guarantee you could sell a player for the money you need. Many clubs would want to wait till July 1st, or later, to buy so you may end up unable to sell anyone of sufficient value or having to take lower offers simply to get money in.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 8:26 pm Technically you could sell a player end of the season to make ffp tbf (same as we did when we forced Archie out).

We sold Rutter but we wouldn't have made a huge profit as we would have still owed, PSR wise, for the remaining years on his contrac. So say we bought him for £30m on a 4 1/2 year deal. We'd still owe around £20m on him. As such if we sold him for £35m it is only £15m coming in. Likely also that as we bought him cos he was too good an opportunity to miss it may have meant we went over budget when we signed him i.e. we had no money to spend but could make exemptions for a special player.
Evans said that if a high quality player was available we'd sign them and then have to sell someone - but we wouldn't look to sell one of our 'crown jewels' until we'd signed a high quality player. As such if we'd signed one of the two players mentioned then likely we would have then had to sell someone like Struyjk or Gnonto where the profit would be big. So likely we'd have been in the position of letting clubs know that we were open to offers and then hoping to sell one or two players.

Similar to last year Aaronsen helps whatever system we play work. He does this through his all round game and energy rather than by endless goals and asistes. He was part of the team selection that bossed the first half and like you said we were at 0-0 whe he went off. He was unlucky not to score, not much more he could have done with his effort on target.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 8:34 pm Aarsonson was unspectacular but not "bad."
We were 0-0 when he went off and I'm sure Farke would have taken that
Fulham's subs were better than ours. That isn't a slight on Farke's decisions but on our relative strength.

The bids were not simultaneous. We went for the lad Sunderland got and failed, then Muniz and that failed and then we went for Paixao. That failed and we ended buying Okafor. I believe we still have money, but probably no more than 10-15 million.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 8:26 pm Technically you could sell a player end of the season to make ffp tbf (same as we did when we forced Archie out).

We may have been in for a quality forward and winger initially. But the plan changed. I would not be surprised if the signing on DCL included a hefty multi million signing on fee. I believe we spent the lion’s share of what we had available.

Yeah. We have to stop running sideways on attack. Aaronson is the worst.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 5:16 pm Missed the end.
Felt we were well organised off the ball for much of the game, good press.
Tidy on it without being threatening.
Fulham were coming into it more as I left.
Frustrating again.
But the lack of quality is obvious, we don't look like scoring a goal and when your aiming to keep it tight and hope to nick something it's risky.
The positives were evident but the negatives are equally so.
Where do our goals come from when you can't really create chances?
I noticed in the 'in training' video last week they were doing some routines to offload and shoot quickly. So the squad are fully aware of the issue. We are going to have to get the forwards we have scoring and nicking a few over the coming few games. We just don't have Kevin type creativity.
Its a funny thing though. In all sports, these sorts of issues become a mental sticking point. We see it in cricket teams, golfers, tennis players and more. Its not choking exactly, it's just like facing a brick wall - in our case right now it's "how the f*** are we going to score a goal?"
Just takes one moment to break through. Let's hope it comes against Wolves.
